Hermark Classical is a creative performing arts agency and one of China’s leading arts management companies, specialising in the field of international co-productions, arts education and communications, and event & touring organizing.

 

Founded in 2011 by Mr. Shang Cai, one of the most experienced culture leaders in China’s performing arts management field, HermarkClassical now represents dance companies, drama theatres, orchestras, ensembles, conductors, singers, pianists and actors throughout the world. HermarkClassical also represents brilliant Chinese artists, responsible for their international marketing, brand building promotion and cultural exchange based co-productions. Projects we successfully finished include Suzhou Ballet Theatre and Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra’s co-production Nutcracker in Doha and Bahrain in 2016, Suzhou Ballet Theatre’s first European tour in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland in 2017, Chinese Ruan player, Martin Feng’s tour in Germany in2014 and Chongqing Folk Dance Company’s tour in Brazil in 2013, Theatre SanTuoQi’s tour in Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Avignon Fringe Festival in 2013, etc. Hermark’s 2018-19 season features Lightwire Theatre’s European and Australian Tour and Suzhou Ballet’s second co-production with Qatar Philharmonic in Doha, Cinderella.

Hermark’s unusually creative and strategic approach is now sharing as a successful study case, both in books and classes, in main China’s arts & culture management schools.

Our Mission

HermarkClassical’s arts education program provides supreme services for schools and families across China, who are involved in master classes, workshops and arts educational classes online and offline. We keep strong and deep collaborations with European and US’ arts education and show producing companies, such as Oorkaan in Amsterdam, L'Armada Productions in Paris, and Qatar Foundation in music and dance education projects in middle east. In China, Hermark’s education programs are welcomed in over 50 international schools, private and public elementary schools and universities. The ARTSMARK CLASSROOM, Series of talks and arts educational lessons given by global artists and educational experts, presented and produced by Hermark and Ximalaya, are also available online (based on Ximalaya Apps and Wechat) with over millions of Chinese parents followers. By attending Hermark’s education programs, both children and adults obtain comprehensive knowledge of Western culture, history, music and art; widening their vision and intercultural understanding.

 

HermarkClassical is also known as the programming counselor of the Beijing Concert Hall, Suzhou Performing Arts Center, Shanxi Grand Theatre, Xi’an Concert Hall and Xi’an Symphony Orchestra, responsible for their annual season’s programming planning, marketing planning, educational development and senior level manager’s training. Both Ms. Wen and Mr. Shang Cai, the artistic director of Hermark Culture, are guest lecturers of the Arts school of the Renmin University of China in Beijing, giving academic courses like Programming, Audience Development, International Performing Arts Market, etc both in Shanghai Theater Academy and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Hermark Culture herself organizes arts management and theater management master-class program every year as well. Our previous theater management master-class, collaborated with culture management school of the Hong Kong Chinese University and features talks and presentations from over 30 artistic directors and senior managers of grand theatres, orchestras, dance companies in China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, successfully got the grants and supports from the China National Arts Funding.
