Under Hermark’s coordination and management, the School of Literature and Philosophy of Tsinghua University, China’s leading academic institutions, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Palace of Versailles to launch an annual summer academic program. The program brings Tsinghua faculty and students to Versailles for in-depth courses and study tours in Western art history and Baroque culture.

In the summer of 2025, for the first time, artists from the Palace of Versailles entered Tsinghua University. Alongside their concert performances, they conducted a series of academic dialogues and workshops on Baroque art and culture with professors specializing in philosophy and art history at the university. Then the first cohort of Tsinghua University’s summer program visited the Palace of Versailles. With the excellent organization and support from the Royal Opera of the Palace of Versailles team, the group successfully carried out its inaugural and highly distinctive academic study tour.

In 2026, we will continue to offer even richer and more diverse artistic and historical cultural experiences at Versailles for Chinese students and faculty, and further promote deep exchanges and long-term cooperation in the fields of humanities and the arts between China and France.
